I have an AJAX application. I need for the user to be able to upload a file so I cheat and I put an upload control on the page. I do the file uploading thru a regular postback withthe upload control that is put on the page. The uploading is handled in a code behind procedure that is in the code behind of the page and is triggered by a button click (file upload).
Since it is a picture that is being upload and itis not sure that it is the right picture, or theat the usert likes it, or chose the right one..... Before my AJAX days I used to upload the picture and put it as an Image object and store it in the session nd from there display it on the page.
Then when the user wants or decides to keep that picture and save it to the data base I usually go back and grab my image object that has been stored in the session and write it to disk and save the path to the database etc...
