Hope you guys can guide me on the right path here, I am about to start a project concerning Images - an Images repository application.
I'm going to handle lots and lots of scanned images or more specifically med records from doctors clinics. The process is that a scanning team goes to a clinic, reviews the patient records and scans the images and then enters the patients details in an application which is linked to that particular picture. the details entered by the team are going to be used to search for that picture (the name, address, symptoms, diagnosis, etc.).
Need your suggestions in how to store the images (via SQL db or files in folder?), thumbnailing, the method of displaying the images to the user etc... is there a way to talk directly to a scanner so that I can develop a frontend app to handle the tagging of the images.
Any input on this would be greatly appreciate ...
