Not Capturing New Line In String From Multiline TextBox

I have a multiline textbox that takes in paragraphs worth of text, however when I redisplay this information by applying it to a Label, it shows up as one paragraph, even though I can see the empty new lines entered when the user types.  I imagine it's an issue with .NET capturing "\n" from the string instead of "<br />", but I cannot figure out how to fix that.

Then I need to take this problem to the next level, because if I sat down and thought about it, I could do some sort of search and replace function on the input.  But how do I address this problem in the EditTemplate of a ListView when I cannot intervene in the Insert process?
