Problems using a control page

 I created a control page in "VB".  I placed a IMAGEBUTTON in the control page. The code for the image button is on the main page. 
I am using this at the top of the content page:
<%@ control Language="VB"%>
 
On the main page I use this code:
<%@ Register TagPrefix="MyTag" TagName="footer" Src="../add_Pages/_footer.ascx" %>
Then I place it using this:
<MyTag:footer id="footer1" runat="server"></MyTag:footer>
 
When I run the page, it says 'ImageButton1_Click' is not a member of 'ASP.add_pages__footer_ascx'
