I'm just getting started with ASP.NET programming using VS2012 and C#. I have been reading some books as well as online resources to get a handle on how things are intended to work with ASP.NET. My previous web development has been in the form of ISAPI DLL's written in Delphi with all HTML/CSS/Javascript hand coded with a text editor. I am hoping that this ASP.NET environment will help to integrate the client and server end better and consequently will speed development and ease maintenance.
The system I currently working on requires 3 pieces of information to authenticate:
An ID the company provides to the user
A username the user selects during registration
A password the user specifies initially during registration
