Problem updating date field in database

Hi,

I have a date field row in a table that needs to be updated. The sql server datatype for this field is datetime.

 I am updating the row using stored procedure with parameters

However, when the procedure is run there is error and does not update the field.

I am using the following parameter from asp.net web form page:

  cmd_r.Parameters.Add("@poduedate", Data.SqlDbType.DateTime)
  cmd_r.Parameters("@poduedate").Value = Convert.ToDateTime(txtDueDate.Text)

I want to know if the above two lines of code are correct to pass date parameter in a stored procedure. I appreciate any help for resolution of this issue.
