Validation Event is fired multiple times while using custom control

Hi, 
I am using a custom control which has a ListView in it. In the list view I have a  Insert new row event. I am doing some client side validation using RequiredFieldValidator.
On my webpage I am using the same control twice. [ofcourse with different Ids].
The problem is when is I click on the Insert button for one of the controls it valiation event gets fired for the second control as well.
What do i need to do to handle this or is this some kind of a bug.
