Databound list w/ links and letter index... is it possible w/ base .NET controls?

I'm trying to build a dictionary of sorts on a webform. The list will be databound to a simple table with a string term, string definition, int pk ID and I'd like the output to look like this generic example:


A
Apple
round red fruit
Apricot
another kind of fruit


B
Ball
round toy used for several sports and games
Bull
adult male cattle


Now here's the key, is it possible to databind output like this, along with a letter index at the top of the page? Is it completely out of the question to hide letters without any terms? Will I end up having to databind 26 times, once per letter and filter using WHERE LEFT(Term,1)='A', etc?
