I need a slideshow that meets specific criteria, and decided to try to write my own. (I have looked at the Ajax Toolkit Slideshow Extension and I can't use it) I was able to get it to work with a database, but the slideshow was cluncky, with too much time from the end of one slide and the beginning of the next. I figured the continual database hits weren't a good idea anyway, so I decided to read the data into an array list and use that to run the slideshow. My problem is I need to create the arraylist when the page first opens - in the page.load event? - and use it in the function that selects the next slide. In this function, the arraylist is always nothing.
