I have searched the forum and have not found a solution for this specific error.
This is a Windows Vista Business computer.
When trying to install the update: SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4 (KB2463332) The following error is logged in Event Viewer:
Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4 (KB2463332).
On the Windows update screen the error is Code 64C Windows Update encountered an unknown error. I tried downloading service pack 4 and installing it manually, but it installed a second instance of SQL Server 2005 Express.
