I have a web form where I need to do some lengthy processing in background upon postback(over 20 mts), I am unable to run the process as a separate thread in background since the processing needs to use a control(reportviewer). So I tried to do periodic ajax calls to server from client based on javascript time period. However these ajax calls dont hit the server at all as long as the lengthy postback is in progress.
So I am not sure how I can handle this and keep pinging the host from client during the long postback.
Any help would be great
