How can I decide the rename operation is succeed or not?

I want to rename a folder in my website. I use the code followed to do this job:
System.IO.Directory.Move(oldFolderName,newFoldername);
 This method return void, but how can I decide my operation is succeed or failed?

Or, how can I confirm that I have the proper ACL right to rename/delete a folder, and then I can control my programe to do diffirent job.

try...catch way can help to do this job, but I don't think it's a good way.

Can anyone kindly tell me how? Thanks.
