Hi All,
I have a user control that takes in a business-layer class (a bll) like this: myUserControl.LoadData(bll). It uses the bll to retrieve data from sql server, displays the data, takes input/updates from the user, and calls the bll again to issue the update stored proc calls. Our security requirements have changed and now I am told that the update stored procs will also take in the userid. My question is, what's the "right" way for me to pass the userid around? Do I make it part of the bll and therefore, part of ALL my bll's? Do I pass it in to my user control when I pass the bll, like this - myUserControl.LoadData(bll, userid)? Do I obtain it once and store it in session? I don't really like that 3rd idea, not sure if a usercontrol even has access to session data - I'm thinking not. I can think of several ways to do it but am wondering what people think is the best way to do it.
thanks.
