ms ajax call web services error

Hi there

I have a ms ajax call my web service.
1. For website application, the AjaxWebService.cs under App_Code, the class is AjaxWebService.cs and method is
[WebMethod] 

public string SaveRecordDetail(string id, string xmlString)

{

return "result";
}

It is working very well when I call it using javascript

ret=AjaxWebService.SaveRecordDetail(sender.id,xmlString,OnSaveEditComplete,OnError,'XmlDocument');

 

2. After I convert this project into web application project.

I create web service page under web application project, it create two files for me

AjaxWebService.asmx and AjaxWebService.asmx.cs

I copy all code from above and save it into AjaxWebService.asmx.cs (I try to create AjaxWebService.cs class and it is the same did not work)
