Hi, I am using c# writing a function which can recursively search through directories and counting the file for each of the file extension, and I am having a problem with long folder path. I know there is a limitation for .NET to only handle folders that are under 255 characters, I wonder is there any other ways to work around without changing the folder to a shoter name??
In VB script, you can use short folder name to specify a path to work around this problem
Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set f = fso.getfolder("\\server\folder\abcdef~1\efghij~1")
set ofiles = f.files
But in .NET, it doesn't work. Is there any class from System.IO which can handle a short folder name or how can I reference the Scripting.FileSystemObject in C#??
string path = "abc\defghijk\....\...\...\....\..."
DirectoryInfo dir = new DirectoryInfo(path);
FileInfo[] files = dir.GetFiles()   ...
