I have an application I moved from ASP.NET 1.1 to 2.0 a while back. In this application, I have a login page that utilizes FormsAuthentication. When the user is authenticated and the Application_AuthenticateRequest event is fired in the Global.asax file, the user's role is added to the security principal. This has worked fine on my local computer and the Windows 2003 production server for months now.
However, I'm now moving to a new hosting provider, have a new Windows 2003 server set up, and everything seems to function properly except for the roles. I cannot get the role from the "User.IsInRole" method anymore. It's the exact same application code, exact same web.config file, etc. Nothing has changed, it just simply will not work on the new server. I have Remote Desktop access to the new server.
