Impersonation in app.config

I have used identity impersonation tag in app.config file of my console application.
I am using this to create directory in a shared drive where i dont have access to create directory. there is a registry in use as username and password attribute of this identity tag.
But still I cant create directory in the shared drive. its showing access denied error.. Plz help
