I am investigating differences in the way that IE7 and Safari display a FileUpload control on an ASP.NET 3.5 page. IE7 has a 'Browse' button to the right of a text box This text box starts off as blank and then shows the filename selected after browsing. After uploading the file, the text box reverts to blank.

In contrast, Safari places a 'Choose File' button to the left of the FileUpload text box and always displays the text 'no file selected' unless a file is loaded in the control. Is there any way to specify on which side the button should appear, which text the button should display - and, of greater importance to me, is there any way to suppress the 'no file selected' message in Safari?
