I have a web application and in an effort to minimize the number of pages needed to support the application, I've decided to use panels to organize the functionally separate areas of the page. For instance, I have these panels.
New - Displays fields to allow for a new record to be created.
Open - Allows users to select a record from a data grid and show the details here.
List - Allows users to view all records in a data grid.
What I want to know is whether the page will render (even invisibly) the panels and contents of the panels that are not visible. I want to ensure there is not time, resources, etc. being spent on processing, rendering and displaying portions of the page which are not necessary at the time.
If it will render this and consume resources just as if these invisible sections were visible, are there other containers that I should use instead, such as div?
