Exporting ds data to excel

I would like to get some information on how I would go about getting certain rows of data from my ds table to export into an excel document. I am using this as a logging file for any errors that are encountered during the processing of the ds. I dont have any code right now, because I am just trying to get info on what I should do, links to docs, webpages or any thing you might think is useful.

 I am not looking for anyone to write the code snippet for me, just point me in the right direction.
