In terms of performance is it better to split a web application across multiple aspx (and code behind pages) or to reduce it into one large aspx and code behind page?
I am currently adopting the later approach however the code behind file is now around 3000 lines long. The application is a series of forms (using postbacks) that require some fairly sophisticated validation. The alternative is to divide the page into 6 individual aspx pages dealing with each sub-section of the form.
I am looking for the option that provides the best level of performance coupled with the smoothest user experience.
