Update of LastActivityDate not updates on return of user

When a user logs in checking the Remember Me box, the LastActivityDate gets updates and Membership.GetNumberOfUsersOnline() includes them.
 
If they return BEFORE the cookie expires, their LastActivityDAte is not updated. Then Membership.GetNumberOfUsersOnline() does include them.
 
Any solution?
