VS2010 vb.net
I can send email using a routine I wrote in vb.net framework 4.0 using a gmail server, but I can't send to a bellsouth server. WAIT! - I know what you're thinking, I CAN send with the bellsouth server in VB6, however, so I have all the correct credentials. I based the .net code on the vb6 code (which I also wrote) but the system provided mail classes are, of course, very different.
To summarize: I have a working vb6 send email routine, and a similar .net routine. The .net routine works with a google mail server and a cox mail server, but not a bellsouth mail server (which is actually smtp.att.yahoo.com) and I don't know why. I suspect I'm doing something slightly incorrect in the .net version that cox and google don't care about or need.
If someone has a working copy of code to send mail to smtp.att.yahoo.com on port 465 that would be great. I'm posting my vb6 and .net code with the attachment handler remo ...
