I'm not sure which forum this would fall under so I will try here. I am a programmer who has been farmed out to support another dept to help develop vb .net web pages that are accessing a DB2 database. The DB2 database is located on our mainframe and we use RACF for security. The dept needs to employ RACF security on the pages because of update functionality.  I should add that I am also new to asp .net (but not new to programming) so it's a bit of learning curve for me too.  From what I can find out, RACF only knows about the web server on our mainframe but that web server doesn't know anything about vb or .net so I can't just put the pages there. We do access that database on a read-only basis through our website using classic asp by suppling a connection string with a userid and pwd that never changes.  For testing this application, I have been doing the same thing with a hardcoded userid & pwd in the connection string that is stored in the web. ...
