Stripping off the Date from the DateTime in C#

DateTime startdate = Convert.ToDateTime(DateTime.Now.ToShortDateString());

From the above code, startDate is displayed like this: 10/14/2009 10:00 AM.
So I want to just strip off the date and get just the time for my use.  How can I do this?  Do I use a substring or some thing else?
