I have just recently started using asp.net for web development and am still a 'newbie' in the area of authentication. I mostly learned alot from info that I found on the web. So, pardon me if I am not specific with my terminology.
I created a website using VisualStudio 2005, using SQL express on my local machine (windows XP). I created a sub directory for 'admin' use, and then created a simple forms authentication page to allow login. During the testing phase, this function worked just fine.
I published the website to a folder on a mapped drive where the site share is for IIS. The publish succeeded with no errors. The server is a Win2k3 server with all of the latest service packs, etc applied, and using SQL Express.
Upon testing the published site now on the server, my forms authentication no longer works.
