I've got a web app (aspx) that calls a dll in the bin directory.
A call to one method from the app to the dll uses a mix of ByVal and ByRef parameters. Up to now, I've only been using nullable decimal and nullable integer types as ByRef in the call and these are successfully updated as expected. Now I need to update one of the ByRef string parameters but it doesn't appear to be updating.
The string variable is marked as ByRef in the method called. Its value is changed during the call but the value in the app after the call has not changed.
Both the app and the dll are in VB.NET.
Is it not possible to update a string variable using ByRef?
