I have been asked to replace a dos application for a a very small business.They don't want to have to connect to the internet because they are afraid of losing control of
their application ( that's what they say).
I thought in this case I could create an asp application on localhost but I am not sure of the commercial or technical implications.
Is an IIS server and management console available in vista., if not what is the alternative and how much does it cost.
Are you allowed to use the free version of sql express for commercial applications , if not what is the lowest cost of a standalone license.(roughly).
This would seem to be an ideal solution because the client can take advantage of the latest technology and once they have gained confidence in their solution they can move
to a full hosted.
Has anyone tried this approach , is it viable , thanks in advance.
