Formatting date value from a calendar control

 I have a calendar and a label and I run the following lines of code.
calExceptionDate.SelectedDate = System.DateTime.Now;  
lblCalDateValue.Text = calExceptionDate.SelectedDate.ToString("mm\\dd\\yyyy");
 

The label's value at runtime is "58d2y2009". The 2009 is right. What can give me the correct output?
