I'm developing a web application on my Windows Vista laptop. The underlying database is MySQL.
Everything was going just fine, until suddenly (really out of the blue) the application became painfully slow. Not just the webform I was working on at the time, but the entire application. I've tried running with a 'fresh' database, but that doesn't make a difference.
In IE8 the progress indicator in the status bar fills up quickly to about 2/3 and then it "hangs" for a few minutes. And when it finally loads, it loads without the CSS styles. Very, very strange!
In Firefox it won't load at all... it just hangs.
Tracing is on in my application, but trace.axd won't load either!
The strange thing is that when this started I wasn't doing anything special that might explain this problem. I've tried undoing my changes, but it doesn't help.
Has anyone else here run into such a problem as well? Or better yet, ...
