When using System.NET.Mail an e-mail address with ö (umlaut character) gives the FormatException:
"The specified string is not in the form required for an e-mail address."
The e-mail address hölm@hotmail.com is not accepted as a valid e-mail address because the ö is a 'non-ascii' character. But the umlaut characters are allowed in e-mail addresses!!

First I used System.Web.Mail and this gave no problems with the umlaut characters in the e-mail address. Problem with using System.Web.Mail is that I can't use 'Alternative' message (e.g. Html message as alternative view) which I also need.

Does anyone know the problem with umlaut characters using System.NET.Mail ... ??
Is there a solution for this?
