I have a client who would like a login screen to authenticate against local windows user accounts for a website, and am just having a hard time figuring out how to structure my web.config to allow this.  So I am thinking I want forms authentication to show the login box, and just have the specific users specified in the <authorization> section, but this doesn't seem to work,  as I just keep getting  Authenticated = false when trying FormsAuthentication.Authenticate("MyComputer\user1", "passwordhere").  Let me know if I am completely out to lunch or not :) , or any other suggestions.  But I basically just want to have a login screen (custom or not), which will only allow certain local windows users to my site that I have specified in my web.config.

   <forms loginUrl="login.aspx" name=".ASPXFORMSAUTH"></forms>
</authentication>

<authorization>
