Hi everyone. I'm getting started with asp.net and decided to create a personal project to develop my skills.

So far I created a login and user data form. It doesn't look good but it works

Now, it's time to move on to the products page.

I'm thinking of having a table at the top of the page with filters (color, price, etc.). Then the list of products that match that filter(s) and the corresponding "Add to Cart" button.

Question 1: what is the usual technique for implementing this? do you recommend using a GridView control? Afaik that seems the best option but as I said i'm just a beginner.

Question 2: as for the shopping cart part, what is the common technique? Should I store cart info on session variables or in the database?

Thx in advance
