In a datalist control, I would like to give the user an option to give simple feedback on the item listed (row).
1. Give a character on the item.
- Feedback : Ajax-modalpopup with a simple 'thank you' and then reload the items score (including the last input from the user) from the database and show the new character sum.
2. Report that the item should be voided (removed from the list) without out deleting it. Just reporting it by updating a field in the database
-Feedback: :Ajax-modalpopup, a simple 'thank you for the notification' and then using a webservice to update the database, setting the item as reported.
Both is to be presented as a asp:imagebutton
I would like to do this without having to submit and reload the page, so Ajax and webservice is the tools I was thinking of, as described in 'feedback' above.
Would this be a good approach or are there better ways of achieving my goals?
