A requirement from our client is to setup the pages / application to use window security. Below is what they have listed as a requirement. So my question is, i have worked with Active Directory before, but this client is looking to setup permissions thru "Users" on the server to manager and control security there..
"user name and password scheme based on the Windows Operating System permissions"
Is this possible for a web application( it wont be available online, it will be web based within their network, so most likely intranet install )
I see posts on here about Windows and Forms authentication, but notice that most of the windows reference handling permissions within IIS, so is that what it means to be based on windows os? And if it is, where is a good place to begin that has good reference material and examples so i can review.
