Hi All: I have a page where the user can check off multiple checkboxlists to search against. There is a second page that performs the query against the dB and displays the results. Both pages have the same master page.
What is the best method to handle this? Would I want to change the postbackurl to the second page, and then "sniff" for the variables in the request.form object and build the dB query there? I did a quick postbackurl test, and see that only the checked vars appear in the form object: ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$cblmySearchCBL1$1 = 6.
Or is it better to build the dB query on the first page, test it against the dB for results, and then send the query to the second page to be executed? If so, what would be the best way to get the query to the second page? Storing it in a session var?
Up until now, I've avoided posting back to anything but the same page, and am not sure what's the best way to han ...
