Split string using regular expressions

Hello All,
I have a string which has innerhtml of a div tag, - something like <div id="div1" style="width=100%"> TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT </div>. How can I use regular expressions to get rid of the tags, my final output should be TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT. I can not use replace, substring etc because I have multiple variables and tags doing something similar.
