I'm trying to concatenate a string of columns that i pull back from the database to set the "DataTextField" equal to the employees full name (basically the LastName & FirstName columns concatinated).
Seems like VB.net doesn't like this syntax.  Anyone know how I can do this in VB.net, line 2 below doesn't work?  (Yes I can do it in SQL, but my question is specific to VB.net)
THanks!

ddl_MyList.DataTextField = "FirstName"
'ddl_MyList.DataTextField = "LastName" & ", " & "FirstName"
ddl_MyList.DataValueField = Trim("EmplID")
ddl_MyList.DataBind()
