Gridview is rendering fonts without anti-alias

Hello - I'm not sure what I did wrong but whenever my GridView renders the data, the font is blocky.  Other websites I've done, the fonts are anti-aliased.  Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?
I'm using an external CSS file which contains:
body, table
{
    font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 8pt;
}

Edit: I do my work on a Virtual Machine running VS2008.  When I view the page in my VM, the fonts are not anti-aliased.  When I view the webpage from the host, they are anti-aliased.
