Working with a custom role provider

I'm building a website and i need some help so i hope i can find it here :)


On my website I need to work with the asp.net login control and my own database and not the asp.net generated one because i need the database to be accesible by my java application
and asp.net always decrypts the paswords and userID's so java can't create any new users...
My first thought was: i can figure out what encryption asp.net uses so then i can use the same encryption in the java app but i can't find that anywhere ... 
so my idea was to override the authenticate method from the asp login control and to create a custom role provider
