I have an SQL Server 2008 database containing company names. Each company has more than one info files associated with it and these files are stored in a directory in the network. I have a page for the user to select the company he/she wants. I want to enable the user to access only that company's files by selecting the company. I am looking for a way that will cost me minimum effort when adding new companies and files.
I thought of different methods like naming files in a way that they start with the company code or name, or having a table containing both file and company names etc., but couldn't decide what to do. What would you do in such a case?
