Hi,
I am using a asp.net ajax with the simplest possible implementation, by exposing webmethods to my browser and handling results with javascript.
So far its working pretty well in a production app however i am getting endless problems serializing datetime.
I was using dateTime.ToUniversalTime() inside of the webmethod so that my browser would not adjust the time and this appeared to have worked well for users in the same timezone as the webserver.
So as i step through code inside of the webmethod, i can see that my date is 1/9/2006 00:00:00, than i update it with ToUniversalTime() and it becomes 1/9/2006 05:00:00, than my browser does the time adjust, and it becomes 1/9/2006 00:00:00 again.
great. than a user in california started getting 1/8/2006 21:00:00. I set my browsers timezone to -8 pacific, and stepped through the webmethod, and ToUniversalTime() adjusted it +5 just like for new york users, after which the browser backed it 8 hours, ...
