change selected index of drop down list in gridview without post back

 Hello,
I have a page and on it i have a drop down list on the page and another drop down list inside a gridview column.
Now what i am trying to do is when i change the selected index of drop down list on the page, the selected index of the drop down in the gridview should also change but without a post back.
