IE gives Open/Save Dialog again and again, but not actually open any ASP files

I'm new to asp. Have beeen working on a project where I've encountered some files with asp extension.
Now I need to execute them to know the working of the tool which had these asp files(used by plant to generate operations report).
 
I came to know that internet browsers can open asp files, and can execute them (if active content to run is enabled in security settings).
Having succesfully opened one such file, I set the IE as the default program to open all my asp files. However, this has spelled doom for me as every time I open my files, It asks for Open/Save again and again, but is not opening the file. While "Save" option gives option to save the file, "Open" just repeats the Open/Save loop.
 
I'm stuck here.
Any ideas?

PS: The first file which opened and executed in my browser still runs. It is not giving Open/Save dialog ...
