Is this a "secure" way of logging in?

I've got a website, the homepage has a login form, just two textboxes and a button, both WebControls. Now, this is the homepage, as in "http://www.mydomain.com", and I don't want it have a "secure" SSL connection, such as "https://www.mydomain.com/"...

So, would sending the user to a secure page in the button's OnClick EventHandler be "secure"?...

For ex:

protected void LoginButton_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
     this.Response.Redirect("https://www.mydomain.com/securelogin.aspx?un=Username&pw=Password");
}
