I spend most of my time in .net/db ... but, I have been given the task of reading through 2 separate fixed-width text files and taking the values from one file and placing them in a specific location within the other file.
file information:
file 1 basically has 100 rows with about 5 fixed-width columns ... the 2nd file has about 50 fixed width values (they wrap around within the file and make up about 10 columns and about 10 rows) for each 1 row in the first file (example: row2 of the first file corresponds to set2 of the 2nd file)
I am suppose to take the 4th value from each set of the 2nd file and place it in the 3rd column of the corresponding row of the first file (example: set 5, 4th value -> row 5, 3rd column)
I am currently doing the following to read through the file:
DialogResult result = openFileDialog1.ShowDialog();
