GOAL: access files on a shared folder that is on a server not in the domain from asp.net website at runtime.

I'm trying to use impersonation to access a shared folder on a server that is not in a domain. I can access the folder with the UNC (popup to specify user and password) with no problem in windows. I understand that trying to access the folder runtime from a asp.net website hosted on IIS is another story since it uses the ASPNET account. So i used impersonation in this way:

Accout on the samba share: user: JOHN password: 1234 with read/list/... rights

Created a local windows accout with same user name and password. (when i log on in windows with that user, theres NO user\password asked when accessing the network ressource on samba share).
turned on impersonation in web.config: Go to the complete details ...
