Hi, I'm developing a web application with ASP .NET 3.5 and a postgres DB.
The following is the damned problem I'm facing.
In my page I have a dropdownlist with some values, and an empty table which will be built with editable controls by the codebehind, querying the db with a parameter taken from the value selected on the dropdownlist.
And this is the very problem:
1) The table is dinamically built basing on the value selected on the dropdownlist
2) So the table must be built after the Page_Init stage in which the dropdownlist selected value is restored in subsequent postbacks
3) But the table has some editable components (textfields and checkboxes) that must be restored by ASP .NET
4) And this is not possible because the table must be built after the Page_Init stage... see point 1)
I can't believe there is no solution to this problem... PLEASE PLEASE!! :-)
It's a matter of life or death (or dismissal ...
