writing a file to a physical location

I have a web application. Through the application I'm uploading a file and this is kept in a physical location and I dont have any virtual path in wwwroot to write the file . I directly write to my physical location which is hard coded in the code and then i write this to the Data Base. This works fine, But my question is I want to view the file once i upload it fot that I set the Navigate URL to the physical location. But the file dont get open. Please help me on this.  If I do the same using Server.Mappat() it works fine.
