How is it possible the length of a result it 8 when it says 4?

I have the following results which I have copied from viewing the source code of the browser:
16701670Length is :4 
Does 16701670 look like a length of 4 to you?
This is the code that writes that:
Response.Write(ReceiverSite)
Response.Write("Length is :" & Len(ReceiverSite))
Here is the code that I added to fix this problem:

Dim R As String = ReceiverSite.ToString.Substring(0, Len(ReceiverSite)) ReceiverSite = R Why am I having to do this?
